Humboldt Alumni Award 2021

for Innovative Networking Initiatives

We are pleased to announce that the Steppe Sisters received Humboldt Alumni Award 2021 for Innovative Networking Initiatives promoting networking between women researchers. The award comes with up to €30,000 in funding and will be used to support the activity of the Steppe Sisters during the next three years (2021-2024). 

In particular, the funding will provide support for:

1) Construction of the Steppe Sisters website dedicated to recruiting additional members and linking researchers and students,

2) Organisation of an in-person workshop in Tashkent jointly with Humboldtians involved in the initiative and the National Center of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan,

3) Dispersal of small grants to early career researchers to allow them to travel to international conferences and to pay for open access fees in reputable international journals.
